No one likes a messy kitchen, but everyone hates a disorganized kitchen. It seems that no matter how big the kitchen is—and Silver Leaf Homes designs great kitchens that utilize the space—there is just never quite enough space for all the appliances, dishes, serving ware, and gadgets that we have.

Today we’re sharing three organizational tips to get your kitchen in tip-top shape.

Hang Your Pans
The best way to open up cabinet or drawer space is to hang your pots and pans. All you need is a way to hang them that incorporates your design. Many modern kitchen systems have a way to install such a thing above your stove or kitchen island. If that’s not your style, or you don’t want to always be looking at them, you can store them in the oven drawer as well. Either way, it gets them out of a cabinet, opening that space to something you’d rather have hidden away, like the gazillion Tupperware dishes we all seem to accumulate.

Mobilize Your Cabinet Space
Rolling spice rack… check? By installing racks, shelves, or gadgets that maximize your cabinet space and keep things organized, you can explore a whole new world. And not to mention, most systems are easy to install, so there is no need to search for a contractor in your area. Just a few simple tools are all you need to start making the most out of your cabinet space.

Sort and Toss
Leftovers are great, and we love great plastic containers. But if you constantly find a container that has no matching lid or vice versa, throw it away! Or if there is something that is more work to use than it costs to replace, throw it away! When you stop fighting with your plastic containers, the kitchen runs a lot smoother.

There you have it! Have fun and enjoy your more efficient kitchen space!
